Zingadi Tere Naam Songs (2008)

Zindagi Tere Naam is director Ashu Trikha's fourth film. It stars Mithun Chakrabarty, Ranjitha, Diya Mirza, Priyanka Mehta and Aseem Ali Khan. I think it was released some time this month. Music of ZTN is composed by Sajid Wajid. I feel like I've heard that first song, Tu Mujhe Soch Kabhi, before but can't quite remember. It's a nice song, probably nice song of the lot.

Yuvvraaj Songs (2008)

Yuvvraaj was released on 21 November, and it is liked a lot since most of the searches on this site these is is Yuvvraaj. It is produced and directed by Subhash Ghai and stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani and Mithun Chakraborty. It's about relationship between the three brothers and the issue of inheritence after their father dies. I watched the movie myself, however I didn't like it much. I guess I was expecting too much beforehand. After it is a Subhash Ghai film and stars all big actors. Music of Yuvraj is composed by A.R. Rehman. I hope you like the songs. Cheers.

Vivah Songs (2006)

Starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the lead roles, Vivah is a story, as the title says, mainly about marriage, but it comes with all the other typical family issues depicted in most Bollywood movies. Being raised by uncle due to parents' death, agreeing to marry to fulfill parents' wishes, blah blah blah. Other major casts of Vivah includes Anupam Kher and Mohnish Bel(?).
Music is by Ravindra Jain, and it is not something I would listen to again. It could actually pretty good for some (I highly doubt that), but it definitely isn't for me. Looking at all the promotional stuff and the music of Vivah, I seriously don't care when it will be released.

Umrao Jaan Songs (2006)

Umrao Jaan is claimed to be based on a 1904 novel by Mirza Hadi Ruswa titled Umrao Jaan Ada (according to Bollywood Trivia), but it was generally thought to be a remake of the 1989 film with the same title starring Rekha. The new Umrao Jaan stars Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Suniel Shetty, Puru Rajkumar and Divya Dutta. It is directed by J.P. Dutta.

The music of Umrao Jaan is by Anu Malik. Even though I'm not very fond of this genre of music (don't really know what it is called), I think Mr. Malik has done a pretty good job here. However, the music of the Rekha starrer Umrao Jaan which I for some reason have watched, is much better. I loved the film and the music alike. Rekha was absolutely wonerful. I'm really anxious to see how successfully Aish is going to play the role that was superbly done by Rekha.

The Killer Songs (2006)

Irfaan Khan is the killer this time, but Emraan Hashmi isn't an undercover cop this time. He is just a regular guy who make a living by driving a cab at night as his second job. Doesn't that story sound familiar to you? It does to me. From what I read on IndiaGlitz.com, The Killer is the Bollywood version of the 2004 Hollywood movie Collateral, starring Tom Cruise as The Killer and Jamie Foxx as the cab driver. The lead female role is played by Nisha Kothari.

The movie's music is directed by Sajid Wajid, and he is done quite a good job. Songs are pretty good. I personally like 'O Sanam' a lot. Enough talk from me. Enjoy these songs.

Salaam-E-Ishq Songs (2006)

Salaam-E-Ishq is a star packed (six couples. twelve lives.) directed by the man who brought us one of most loved movies of 2003, Kal Ho Na Ho, the one and only Nikhil Advani. It's his second film so far, and from all it's star power, you can only guess that Salaam-E-Ishq is going to do very well in the box-office. But how good a movie it is, is yet to be seen. The cast of SEI includes Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, John Abraham, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Juhi Chawla, Govinda, Isha Koppikar, Shannon Esrechowitz, Sohail Khan, Karan Johar (!?) and Anjana Sukhani. Wow!

The music of this film is given by the guys who rocked the world with Don's music earlier this, Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The music is great, very playful and as usual they will rock ya! Enjoy!

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak Songs (1988)

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is one of the most loved movies of 80's. It is directed by Mansoor Khan and stars Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Dalip Tahil, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath. If you call yourself an Aamir Khan or Juhi fan then you better have watched this film or you are not their fan at all. This film not only boosted the careers of Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan and catapulted them to stardom, but also marked the beginning of a whole new trend of film making in Bollywood. Anand Milind, brothers and sons of the famous 60's music director Chitragupt, went on to win themselves a Filmfare Award for this film. Their music played a big part in the success of the film and there is a reason for it. Ae Mere Humsafar, Akele Hain To Kya Gum Hai and Papa Kehte Hain are timeless classics. Partner Songs (2007)

Based on the Will Smith starring Hollywood film Hitch, Partner features Salman Khan, Govinda, Lara Dutta, and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles. It is directed by David Dhawan. Here Sallu is the 'love guru' which leaves Govinda to be the one who needs a make-over to win one of the leading ladies' heart. It's meant to be a comedy film, and I hope that the makers have loaded it with some nice and smart jokes. We've had a little too much of stupid jokes recently, mostly last year.

The man responsible for the music of Partner is Sajid Wajid. It's a pretty fast-paced and loud album with too much bass. If you have a good sound system, big subs with a good amplifier, you can blow your roof off with these songs. And I think that's all they can do, they're neither lyrically good nor musically exceptional. Just loud and in your face, rather in your ear drums. No award nominations for Wajid this year. Have a listen yourselves, and see what I mean.

Om Shanti Om Songs (2007)

Behold ladies and gentlemen! Music of the biggest movie of the year is here, and I am absolutely thrilled to say that you and I are among the very first to listen to them. As you already know, Om Shanti Om is the highly expected movie by Farah Khan starring the one and only Shahrukh Khan along with Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal and Kiron Kher playing the important roles. So far I know only what you all know about the film, if you have seen the trailers that is. Shahrukh is presented with an all new look, amazingly ripped body with stunning six-packs and a new hair style. There's also another treat in store for us all, more than 30 big names of Bollywood are to feature in one of the songs!! What else can we say except THANK YOU FARAH AND SHAHRUKH FOR ANOTHER GREAT FILM!!!

Music of Om Shanti Om is directed by the wonderful duo Vishal-Shekhar. I'm listening to Dard-e-Disco as I'm writing this and it's a superb song. I have listened to all of them, and I absolutely love them (most of 'em, not all ;p). Great music and great lyrics penned down by Javed Aktar himself. SO don't wait and start downloading!!!!

Himesh Reshammiya has sworn not to leave us alone. He's back with his new filmi album Namastey London, which has quite an unusual number of songs for a Hindi Film, 17. Mission Istanbul Songs (2008)

Apoorva Lakhia certainly likes to make movies with strong men in tow. Ek Ajnabee, Shootout At Lokhandwala and now Mission Istaanbul - 'macho' has been the keyword in each of the films made by the young director. If Shootout At Lokhandwala was his biggest film till date, Mission Istaanbul seems to be taking a step forward with global terrorism as the theme.

Neeraj Shridhar - Now this name spells magic, especially after delivering a dozen odd chartbusters with Pritam in the recent times. Something similar can be expected from 'Nobody Like You' which has a huge team of artists coming together. While Chirantan Bhatt creates yet another catchy tune after 'Mission Mission', Hamza Faruqui, Ishq Bector come up with a mix of Hindi and English lyrics. While Ishq adds on his trademark (and impressive) rap, Anoushka joins him and Neeraj to come up with a new age song with a Western base to it. Now this is one song which would help the album sales in a big way if an eye catchy music video is created around it! The belief is only strengthened once the 'remix version' of the song is heard.

Love Story 2050 Songs (2008)

Harry Baweja's latest film is Love Story 2050 and, as the name suggests, is a sci-fi and set in the future, in 2050 to be more specific. The protagonists, Karan (Harman Baweja) and Sana (Priyanka Chopra) travel to the future using a time machine built by Dr. Yatinder Khanna (Boman Irani). It's full of special effects. Even though it has been criticized for being amateurish and waste of the huge Rs. 500 million, I give credit to Harry for trying something different. Bollywood seriously needs to make something besides the lame and mindless comedies. Not that they aren't producing any good films, however there's been only a few every year. So kudos to Harry for trying something different.

Khushboo Songs (2008)

Khushboo is a film directed by Rajesh Ram Singh and stars Rishi Rehan and Avantika in lead roles. The story is about a Raghu who puts his work and profession before everything in his life until he falls in love with Pinky and meets her big Panjabi family.

Music of Kushboo is directed by Bappa Lahiri and he's come up some really nice tunes. I specially like Kyon Hai Mujhe Lagta sung by Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Songs (2008)

Aamir Khan launches his nephew Imraan Khan in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the third film produced under Aamir Khan Productions. It's directed by Abbas Tyrewala and also stars Genelia D'Souza, Naseeruddin Shah and Manjari Phadnis. Aamir has even roped in A.R. Rehman to compose the music for JTYJN to boost Imraan's debut film. However it seems like the film lacks in story, which is the most vital part of a film. How many times have we heard that a bad or so-so screenplay will never make a great fil. Looks like Aamir ignored that crucial principle specially when it is also Abbas Tyrewala's debut as a director. What is left is to see how Chhota Khan performs. Hope he proves to be a promising actor.

Horn Ok Please (2008)

There are some projects from which one doesn't have any hope whatsoever. Reason is simple. The initial promos of the film do not give an impression of a quality product. Nana Patekar in the lead (in spite of the film being a comedy) doesn't make one look forward to a melodious outing. Moreover, the film's title itself doesn't give one much hopes. Horn Ok Pleassss is one such project. To make matters worse, composer Lalit Pandit hasn't given one decent soundtrack ever since his split with Jatin, let alone recreate the magic of the 90's when the duo gave innumerous musical successes. No wonder, expectations are at an all time low.

Now if only roping in of Neeraj Shreedhar alone could have made a song successful! With composer Pritam, Neeraj may have given a dozen odd hits by now but he would have to give the title song 'Pom Pom Pom' a pass here. This Sajid and Farhad written number has a Western base to it but the theme feel (Nana Patekar is a truck driver in the film) is hardly enticing enough to give the song a second hearing. Even though the song is complimented by a music video with Nana trying to be all hip and cool, 'Pom Pom Pom' is such a downer that one is hardly interested in it's 'remix version' as well.

The film is about a rich mobile phone company owner, Prashanth Pawar(Amir Khan), who loses his memory after being hit on the head in a fight. I don't wanna give out any spoilers here, so if you wanna know more about the storyline, checkout Wikipedia.

Music of Ghajini is directed by the one and only A. R. Rehman. Absolutely great music. I was kinda disappointed with Yuvraa's music, but this one is great. I specially Behka and Ghajini and Kaise Mujhe and .... actually I love all of 'em. But the best has to be Kaise Mujhe, I'm listening to it right now and it's intoxicating!

Firaaq Songs (2009)

Firaaq is a art film directed by Nandita Das and stars Naseruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Raghuveer Yadav, Deepti Naval, Sanjay Suri, Shahana Goswami, Tisca Chopra and Dilip Joshi. The movie deals with friendship, violence and guilt and some very real human emotions. It portrays a more gruesome aspect of life, one that is unfortunately quite real for a lot of people. If you're looking for glamour and dance numbers, this film is not for you. However, if you love the art of film making and want to see some real acting and good story telling then you will love this film. I'm personally a HUGE fan of Naseerudin Shah, and I'm itching to get hold of a Firaaq DVD.

Music of Firaaq is composed by Rajat Dholakia and Piyush Kanojia with lyrics from Gulzar. On the music front, there Firaaq doesn't offer much. You might be wondering why am I wasting my time posting it then. Well I didn't know about it until I was half way through this post. EMI Songs (2008)

EMI is a film by Saurabh Kabra and stars Sanjay Dutt once again as a Bhai called Sattar. EMI also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Malaika Arora, Ashish Chowdhry, Anil Sharma, Neha Uberoi, Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Joshi. It was rleased back in November and hasn't received as many good reviews.

Music of EMI is composed by Chirantan Bhatt. I really like the song Chori Chori Dekhe Mujhko, and there are a couple of other nice songs too in this album. Enjoy!
